Outdoor farmers markets are shutting down this month.

Milford’s last outdoor market is this Saturday. Indoor market starts November 6th in the Town hall Auditorium.
Francestown last market is October 22nd. No indoor market is planned.
Peterborough is outside until October 20 then goes inside through December.
Slow ripening and less to harvest will continue through the season. It’s not just the cool temperatures, which are above average for October, but the reduced light. We are adding more light in the greenhouse to encourage growth. Can’t be done outside.
Lettuce, Hearty Greens, Arugula, Beets, Cherry tomatoes, Kale, Swiss Chard, Tokyo Bekana, Spinach and Radishes are planted for upcoming winter season.
We have started to harvest Brussels Sprouts, but without a frost they will not be as flavorful. The first pick only yielded 4 pints, so they will be sizing up over the next month. Right now there are none to harvest.
Here is what’s on the menu this week:
Jonared Apples $3 per pound
