What Is A CSA?
When you join a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm, you enjoy the unique experience of eating fresh and local, connecting with your food source, supporting your community, and so much more.
Traditional Structure
Traditional farm CSA’s allow consumers to subscribe to the farm harvest by buying a portion of the harvest, prepaid in the season. The farm then gives a portion of that harvest back, based either on what is growing each week or a set interval as the season progresses.
The Ledge’s “You Decide” CSA
Our CSA is much different. Unlike traditional CSA’s, you can customize everything. We refer to it as a “You Decide” CSA. In our model, you get to decide:
How much your subscription will be | What produce you want | When you want to pick up | How often you want to pick up |
Why “You Decide”?
Why? Because you get better value for your dollar! While this custom approach to CSA is more time consuming on our end, we know it makes more sense for our customers. That’s important. With “You Decide,” your money goes further. You don’t take anything you can’t use or don’t need. Any product you’re not satisfied with gets a full refund or credit. You can’t go wrong with this CSA model.

How Our CSA Works
In our farm’s “You Decide” CSA model, farm supporters pay a sum up front at the beginning of the year.
Once the produce is ready, members can place orders at their convenience for the produce they want, selecting from what is available on the farm that week.
Did you know… We grow all year long!
While summer and fall provide the best choice of what we grow, our farm offers fresh produce year round.
The average CSA pre-buy at Ledge Top is $300, but can range from $100-$500 for the season. As you pick up your produce, the retail value is deducted from your pre-buy. More money can be added on at any point in the season if your initial pre-buy runs out.
No application necessary!
To sign up, simply submit the form on this page indicating your interest in joining the CSA, or send us an email.
Work Opportunities
If you are interested in further involvement, you can be a participating member on the farm and work here in exchange for produce.
There are also opportunities for contract style work for those interested in local sustainable farming.
How To Select Your CSA Produce
Each week, an email will be sent which will list all available produce for the week. Review the email and submit your order using the form found here. You can also find the Order Form by navigating to our “Available Produce” page, then click the “Place Your Order” button.
If you run into any trouble with the Order Form, you can email your order to [email protected].
