Ledge Top Farm 2023 CSA
Please support Ledge Top Farm for 2023. We grow vegetables and small berries using no-till practices and organic methods. On less than an acre of growing space, Ledge Top Farm can supply many members. Last year we had over 35 CSA participants. We also sell at three farmers’ markets each week during the growing season.
How does the Ledge Top Farm CSA work?:
As a participating member you provide up-front money for the farm operation. This establishes a credit with the farm.
The Farm buys seeds, equipment and supplies to operate the farm.
Each week you are contacted by an email newsletter about what is growing.
You order what you want from the newsletter. Let us know when you want pick up and it will be waiting for you at the farm stand.
This amount is deducted from your established credit. Your new credit balance will be on the receipt.
Continue buying at any time during the year to use your credit until December 31st 2023.
Any money not used at that point will be lost.
Pick up at the farm will earn you an extra $1 per $10 of your order.
You can also pick up at any farmers’ market location.
Joining in January will give you an extra $10 for every $100 of credit you establish with the farm.
Your support provides you with the following:
Your credit is used wherever and whenever you pick up your order.
Order ahead and pick up your order fresh picked.
Come in and pick your own for many of the items and stretch your credit.
Extend your credit by working on the farm.
Be assured of the strict use of organic growing practices.
No cash is needed once your plan is in place.
Special offers may occur throughout the season for “members only”.
You can pick up at 3 different remote locations in the area, although pick-up at the farm keeps costs down.
Your membership supports this farm so it can give continuous products to you.
Your membership credit is good until December 31st, but practically speaking selection is available from May to October.
Greenhouses and high tunnels are used to extend the growing season.
Produce is available May through November. The best selection is July, August, and September.
Our mission:
Ledge Top Farm is committed to sustainable agricultural practices and grows fruits and produce to organic standards. Sustainable practices include preserving the structure of soil by reduced tilling or no tilling, using compost as the main additional plant nutrient, and introducing beneficial species whenever possible.
Ledge Top Farm is not a state-certified organic farm. Natural minerals and fertilizers, such as compost, alfalfa meal, rock phosphate, feather meal, and kelp meal are used to feed the soil and produce healthy plants. An extensive number of beneficial insects control pest outbreaks. If a plant can’t be grown without the use of artificial chemicals, it will not be grown on this farm. We never buy from outside growers. The produce offered to you is the best this farm can grow. Artificial chemicals are not used on produce to make an insect problem go away. Instead a change is made to prevent that problem in the future or use an OMRI approved product. If you identify with these ideals, then Ledge Top Farm would like to grow your vegetables and fruits for you.
