Ledge Top Farm is looking for help for the upcoming growing season! Farm work positions typically start up in May and run through the end of the summer. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to learn the ropes of organic growing and regenerative agriculture. If you or anyone you know would be interested please have them email Tom or Drew.

Happy March, it seems like winter is flying by already! Onions and leeks are growing inside our warm greenhouse, tomatoes and peppers are seeded and ready for their 12 week journey before going into the ground, spring spinach crops are taking off, and our first market of the season in Peterborough is a month away.

March is a month of many more preparations to get the farm ready for another successful season. Prepping beds in our unheated greenhouse to be ready for spring planting, seeding and transplanting starts, getting our scales inspected and certified, and later this month we will pick up our bulk order of ingredients for our organic soil amendments. At Ledge Top, we take pride in continuing the health of our soils by following no-till growing principles and treating our fields and beds with a mixture of different organic compounds designed to meet the nutrient needs for our plants. This ensures healthy and fertile soils on The Ledge for decades to come.

Lots of fresh greens available on the farm this week! Hearty greens make a great addition to stir frys and tokyo bekana is an excellent lettuce alternative for a more flavorful salad, think mustard green without the spice!

Here’s what’s available this week:

Arugula $5 per bunch

Eggs $7 per dozen (Limited quantity)

Hearty greens mix $5 per bunch

Radishes $3 per bunch

Tokyo bekana $3 per bunch

To place your order, email tom.mitchell9@icloud.com or drewltf@icloud.com with a list of what you would like, and the date and time you will pick up. You will receive a reply when your order is confirmed. If you do not hear back within a few hours, please email us again to confirm.
