Cooler nights and shorter days is taking a toll on the production.
Cucumbers are in and out. We get a few and then none. Green beans and summer squash are slow growing too. We are planting more lettuce and have some this week, but the demand is higher than the supply. Red sweet pepper are coming in but they seem to take their time getting red. If you want them green let us know.
Beef steak tomatoes are at the end of their production. Another week left.
New beets are coming to size with good greens. The earlier beets have very poor greens and we’ve been cutting them off. Let us know if you want eatable greens on your beets.
Still to come in October: Sweet potatoes, standard potatoes, and Brussels Sprouts. We will continue to keep greens and lettuce growing in the greenhouses.
