December 31st, what’s growing and CSA sign ups

This is the last day to use your CSA credit. Yes we still have things growing in the greenhouses, slowly but growing, and the volume is very low but that’s what happens this time of the year. Spinach and Kale plantings are doing well and will be ready for harvest come February and March. We don’t join Farmers markets until April.

Surveying  the greenhouses this morning, this is what’s available.

Hearty greens $5 per bunch (a mix or 5 different greens, no lettuce)

Pea shoots $5 per bunch

Green leaf lettuce $3 per bunch

Red Mustard $3 per bunch (only 1 bunch available )

Arugula $5 per bunch

Radishes $3 per bunch

Tat soi $3 per bunch

Please provide the day and time you want to pick up. We will pick as close to your pick up time so your order is fresh. During freezing weather there will be a red cooler with your order inside. There is a can there if this is a cash order. CSA orders will show the remaining balance.

Join our CSA:

 1. Decide if you want this type of CSA. The CSA structure at The Ledge is different than conventional CSA’s at other farms. You decide what you want from the email we send to you that list the available produce, which may change every week. If you do not order then you do not get anything, nothing will be waiting for you to pick up. You have until Dec 31st of the year to decide how to use the credit you establish at the farm. No refunds except in extreme situations. If you don’t use your balance by the end of the year, you lose it. It does not carry to the new calendar year.

2. Determine the amount you want to use to establish a credit. This average credit is $300, but there is no low or high limit. During January only, you will get $10 extra in credit for every $100 you provide to set up your account. You may add to your account anytime but no discounts after January 31st.

3. Send us a check(made out to Ledge Top Farm, LLC) with the amount you want to set up as a credit. We will add the additional bonus for January sign up, and email you the amount in your account.

4. Each week you will get an email, so you can choose what you want. Selection is most abundant in July, August, and September. You should plan to have your balance be zero by the end of October. You never know what is available as the weather limit growing.

5. That’s it! In addition you get a $1 offer every $10 of produce you pick up at the farm, so we encourage you to add more value to your money and this saves us transporting your produce to market. This added discount is not available if you pick up at a Farmers Market.
