Sales were good at Farmers markets this past week and most items were sold out. So much different then last December when there was so little available that early December was the last 2020 market. This season we are scheduled to go through the winter.
The slow growth means that very little is ready to harvest this week. Swiss chard, kale, collards and beets will be available next week as they grow.
Arugula, some lettuces and Hearty greens are still available. Tomatoes continue to ripen and the supply looks strong through December. Peppers are turning from green to orange red but they are wrinkling some. Still good but just not crisp.
This week there is one market in Peterborough, Wednesday from 3-5 PM at the Community Center. There is also snow predicted. The decision is: if the schools are closed then the market is closed.
Farm pick up is always available. Email(tom.mitchell9@icloud.com), text (603-620-7302)or call in your order and when you want to pick up. The orders are in a red cooler where the tent was set up. Payment can be left there also.
Here’s what’s growing:
Arugula $4 per bunch
Hearty greens $5 per bunch
Beet greens $4 per bunch
Tokyo Bekana $3 per bunch
Peppers $4 per pound mostly green, a few red
Tomatoes $3 per pound, mostly beef steak type
