What a beautiful week it was on The Ledge, a break from the heat and a nice reminder that fall is just around the corner. Winter squash is in this week! We have a beautiful crop of delicata, acorn, butternut, spaghetti squash, and pie pumpkins all ready and available for order now. Delicata squash are a tasty and easy treat for the end of summer and early fall season. Their edible skin makes for easy roasting and recipes.
Tomato season is in full swing and we have plenty of tomato seconds available for purchase at the farm. Tomato seconds typically have splits or yellow shoulders at the top, but the rest of the tomato is still great. We are now offering seconds at $1 per lb with a 5 lb minimum for purchase. Great for canning or sauces!
The market schedule is going to be a little different going forward. After this week, Ledge Top Farm will not be at the Francestown Community Market every week. We will be in Francestown one day in September and one day in October, dates to be determined. We will still be in Peterborough on Wednesdays from 3-6pm and Milford on Saturdays from 10am-1pm, and orders can always be picked up at the farm in Wilton.
