It looks like we are finally getting some cooler weather and possibly some much needed rain this week, what a hot and dry summer we’ve had so far! All that heat has led to some bumper crops of potatoes and tomatoes this year. Winter squash is still looking great and we should be harvesting some acorn squash and delicata by the end of the month.
Plum tomatoes are coming in great this year. At Ledge Top we grow Granadero plum tomatoes. Granaderos are an extremely versatile plum tomato, equally good for cooking as they are in salads, salsa, or sliced up on your sandwich. They aren’t mealy like a roma can be and are a perfect addition to any summer tomato recipe you have.
