It is finally looking to be a little cooler this week! All of us at Ledge Top and the plants made it through the heat wave with lots of growth. Snow peas are ready for harvest this week and will be available for order. Beets have come in and are looking beautiful this week. It has been a great year for growing so far.
It’s garlic scape season! Garlic scapes are the edible flowering part of the garlic plant, delicious with a slightly less intense flavor than clove garlic. Scapes can be used in any way you’d cook clove garlic, they can be grilled or sauteed whole as a side dish, and they make an amazing pesto. Here’s a great recipe to try for garlic scape pesto: https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1015301-garlic-scape-pesto
